Kazuma Miki, editor of the Sword Art Online novels and head of creative management company Straight Edge, put out a recruitment call on Wednesday for writers to work on various projects within the Sword Art Online franchise. Detailed knowledge of the series is not an essential requirement, he says.
The jobs will fall into three types: Anime script writer, game story writer, and novelist. Prior experience with professional fiction writing in the anime, novels, or games businesses is a must. Writers may also be expected to work on manuscripts related to other Reki Kawahara projects.
The payment and schedules will be negotiated on a per-project basis. The projects are expected to commence from January or February next year, but individual projects can be rescheduled according to the writer's needs.
Straight Edge will function as support and a go-between for the writers, although writers may sometimes be expected to interact with Kadokawa, Aniplex, A-1 Pictures, Bandai Namco Entertainment, EGG FIRM, and other companies related to Sword Art Online directly.
