The anime takes place in an alternative universe in 2015. Tokyo-3 is attacked by powerful creatures, the Angels. Nothing seems to stop them, but scientists will develop a new weapon, EVA. The series follows the adventures of Shinji Ikari, the pilot of one of these mechas.
The series will be released in spring 2019. Netflix will also offer Evangelion Death True and The End Evangelion in parallel
